Tencent Files Patent to Host Virtual Concerts in Metaverse

Chinese tech giant Tencent has extended its metaverse push by submitting a patent for virtual concerts, according to industry data tracker Qichacha. Tencent Wants to Enter Metaverse Chinese internet firm Tencent has applied for a virtual concerts patent with the Chinese National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA). The abstract shows that the application method includes ‘in the current object’s song practice interface, the presentation of the concert entrance; based on this entrance, receive the concert creation instructions for the target singer, and then create a song simulation concert room; collect the corresponding singing content of the target singer’s song, and play it through the concert room’ which essentially means that the company wants to create or host virtual concerts in the metaverse realm.
