Google’s online data storage services division, Google Cloud has announced a new, dedicated Digital Assets Team to build, transact, store value, and deploy products on blockchain-based platforms. The new team will build on Google’s existing work with blockchain developers, crypto exchanges, and other companies in the crypto space. On Thursday, Yolande Piazza, Google Cloud’s vice president of Financial Services announced that the firm has set up a new Google Cloud Digital Assets Team that will assist clients in creating, trading, storing value and launching new products on blockchain-based platforms. “Google Cloud to support our customers’ needs in building, transacting, storing value, and deploying new products on blockchain-based platforms. This new team will enable our customers to accelerate their efforts in this emerging space and help underpin the blockchain ecosystems of tomorrow,” Yolande said. The Digital Assets Team will specifically provide dedicated node hosting for developers, take part in node validation and on-chain governance, and support on-chain governance with select partners including hosting several public BigQuery datasets on Marketplace.
