Pop icon Madonna has become the latest celebrity to jump on the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT bandwagon. Bored Ape Yacht Club Hype Continues In an Instagram post on Thursday, pop singer Madonna revealed she had “finally entered the Metaverse” by purchasing her very own Bored Ape NFT, a cartoon monkey with an ‘S&M hat,’ adorned with evil-eye symbols on its fur body. “I finally entered the metaverse,” said Madonna. “My very own Ape! What should I name her?” adding, “We all need protection from evil eyes.” She further gave a shout out to MoonPay, a crypto payments firm that has been purchasing NFTs on behalf of celebrities since late last year, for helping her in purchasing the NFT. Madonna just bought a bored ape NFT via Moonpay for 180 ETH ($563,000.) In addition to BAYC, the wallet also owns an NFT from the Zombinomy Collection.
