Sitharaman is in the United States on an official visit to attend the International Monetary Fund and World Bank spring meetings. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has highlighted the risks associated with the use of Cryptocurrencies, stating that the significant concerns are money laundering and terror financing. Nirmala Sitharaman addressed the International Monetary Fund (IMF) conference on April 18th and said, “I think regulation using technology is the only answer. Regulation using technology will have to be so adept that it has to be not behind the curve, but be sure that it is on top. And that’s not possible if any one country thinks that it can handle it. It has to be across the board,” Sitharaman praised India’s digital performance and the government’s efforts to develop a digital infrastructure framework over the last decade, emphasizing the country’s increased digital adoption rate during the COVID-19 pandemic. The post Nirmala Sitharaman On Money laundering And Terror Financing Around Cryptocurrency first appeared on Cryptoknowmics-Crypto News and Media Platform. The post Nirmala Sitharaman On Money laundering And Terror Financing Around Cryptocurrency appeared first on Cryptoknowmics-Crypto News and Media Platform.
