Liverpool could become the first Premier League to sign a cryptocurrency firm as a shirt sponsor from as early as 2024. According to The Athletic, Liverpool’s current £40m-a-year deal ($50 million/year) with Standard Chartered expires in May 2023 and therefore the club is on the lookout for a new deal if they cannot agree to extend their partnership. Currently, the team is considering ‘companies from the cryptocurrency sector’ with reports of Liverpool talking to a crypto exchange firm. Other firms under consideration also include sectors electronics, media and tourism, however crypto firms are given the most preference. Liverpool wouldn’t be the first Premier League club to sign a deal with a cryptocurrency firm but they would be the first to sign one as their main shirt sponsor. If an agreement is reached, it is believed that it would bring in more than £70 million ($89 million) across two seasons. Last month, the club launched its first NFT collection, raising over £1 million ($1.27 million) from sales, even though percent of available tokens went unsold. The post Liverpool Considers Crypto Firms for Shirt Sponsorship Deal first appeared on Cryptoknowmics-Crypto News and Media Platform. The post Liverpool Considers Crypto Firms for Shirt Sponsorship Deal appeared first on Cryptoknowmics-Crypto News and Media Platform.
