3D Social Network BUD Raises Another $37M, Plans to Launch NFTs

Metaverse app BUD recently raised $36.8 million in a Series B round led by Sequoia Capital India, bringing its total valuation to over $60 million. BUD Raises Fresh Funding in Series B Funding Round According to a recent report from TechCrunch, Singapore-based Metaverse startup BUD has raised $36.8 million in a Series B round, not long after it secured a Series A extension in February. Led by Sequoia Capital India, the round included investments from prominent China-focused investors such as ClearVue Partners, NetEase, and Northern Light Venture Capital. Existing investors GGV Capital, Qiming Venture Partners and Source Code Capital also participated in the round. The app has been among the top 10 social apps in nearly 40 countries across North America, Southeast Asia and South America. It’s currently the top free social Android app in Thailand and Vietnam. Plans for NFT Market In addition to providing the usual metaverse experience, BUD also plans to introduce a marketplace for non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
